Sarah W, Registered Psychotherapist,
Qualifying
Sarah is an open-minded, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapist who values the collaborative nature of the therapeutic relationship. Her goal is to create a safe space that allows clients to tap into their curiosity and explore the facets of their genuine identity, along with their personal values, emotions, and needs. Through noticing and remaining curious in the present moment, Sarah provides a safe environment for exploring what is arising for healing and supports clients in their journey of learning and growth.

She draws from a diverse range of techniques rooted in evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Existentialism. Sarah also uses attachment-based theories and family-systems frameworks to help conceptualize the challenges individuals face, considering the intricate interaction of relationships and family roles. In addition, she applies experiential methods in sessions, including mindfulness and somatic approaches, to support the learning and application of new skills in life outside the therapy room.

When I'm not working....
I love spending time out in the local parks of Peterborough walking my dog parsnip. I love to travel and have explored all across Canada coast to coast in a camper van! #vanlife
