Hi, I’m Miranda and I work with adults who may not arrive with a clear story, but know something isn’t working the way it used to. You may come in with a question, a frustration, or a vague sense of being stuck. One of my favourite moments in this work is when the original concern fades into the background and something else gets named because it finally feels safe enough to say it. I strive to create a steady, thoughtful space where you don’t have to perform, rush toward a solution, or present a polished version of yourself.
Miranda often works with people who appear to have everything together on the outside but feel overwhelmed or quietly dissatisfied beneath the surface. Many of the individuals she supports struggle with longstanding self doubt, low self esteem, or a sense of feeling disconnected from their lives. These experiences are often not new. They are simply parts of someone’s story that have never had a safe space to be explored. In her work, Miranda helps clients begin to understand why certain thoughts, reactions, or patterns keep repeating and how they might begin to see themselves and their lives differently moving forward.
Her approach is informed by training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic approaches, and mindfulness. Miranda holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. While these frameworks guide her work, she is less interested in applying a formula and more interested in understanding each person as a whole within the full context and complexity of their life. She approaches therapy with care and respect for the stories people carry.
In sessions, Miranda’s style is collaborative and steady. She has a natural ability to help people make sense of what feels tangled, organizing thoughts that come out in a rush, reflecting patterns back, and noticing what keeps repeating. As the therapeutic relationship develops and safety and trust deepen, Miranda may begin to challenge clients more directly, with thoughtful questions to encourage deeper reflection and curiosity. Often the direction someone needs is already present. The work is slowing down enough to hear it. Miranda brings thoughtful reflection and a natural sense of humour into the room, which can help lighten the weight of difficult moments and make space for honest conversation.
If you are looking for a space to set some things down, think more clearly, and understand yourself a little better, working with Miranda may be a good place to start.
