Hi, I’m Katey. I believe that therapy is for everyone, not just for people in crisis, not just for people with a diagnosis, and not just for people who can easily name what’s wrong. If you have a sense that something in your life isn’t working the way you want, that’s enough. We can figure out the rest together.
Katey is a curious, warm, and deeply committed therapist who brings a genuine desire to understand each person’s story on its own terms. Her approach is collaborative at its core, she doesn’t believe in having all the answers, and she doesn’t pretend to. What Katey does believe in, is asking the right questions, following the client’s lead, and staying flexible and curious to meet each person exactly where they are.
Her background is broad and intentionally so. Katey holds a master’s degree in counselling psychology alongside training in a wide range of approaches, and she brings a particular strength in supporting neurodiverse individuals, including those with ADHD and autism. She has also worked extensively with children and youth as well as with adults navigating mood concerns, anxiety, identity, and life transitions. She’s equally comfortable working with a ten-year-old and a forty-year-old — because she genuinely loves both.
One thing that sets Katey apart is her intuitive pattern recognition. She tends to pick up on themes and connections early with clients, but she’s careful never to jump ahead or to conclusions, instead, she guides clients through their own discoveries so that the insight lands with them, in their own words, at the right moment. She also brings humour into the room when it fits. Not to deflect, but because sometimes laughter is exactly what helps something heavy become a little more workable.
Katey practices what she preaches. She is committed to her own growth, her own self-care, and showing up as a full human being in the room, not a blank wall. Clients often describe feeling genuinely seen and unexpectedly comfortable from early on.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will be honest, curious, and fully invested in your story, Katey would love to connect.
